Bringing learning to life

An exceptional experience, built around your school

EcoWise Italy creates personal, hands-on school trips that connect classroom learning with real landscapes, ecosystems, stories and challenges.

Science and fieldwork sit alongside storytelling, myth-making, environmental art, drama and imaginative exploration. Pupils move, notice, create, solve problems and work together — away from screens and fully immersed in a new place.

Based in north-west Italy, we shape each programme around the pupils, learning goals and preferred style of adventure, from focused fieldwork to a full residential week.

  • Typical class groups of 20–30 pupils
  • Groups of approximately 15–80 considered
  • Day visits, short residentials and immersive 5- or 7-day programmes
  • Personal reply from Adam within 24 hours

A flexible starting point

Give the experience time to unfold

For schools travelling internationally, we recommend five days and four nights. A longer stay creates space for deeper exploration, stronger group development and a more rewarding journey through place, story and discovery.

Short stay3 days / 2 nights

A concentrated introduction.

Full immersion7 days / 6 nights

A complete week of learning and adventure.

Clear and straightforward

Who organises what?

You will always know who is responsible for each part of the trip.

EcoWise Italy

  • Designs and delivers your educational programme
  • Selects the programme location and checks what is available
  • Books accommodation and food on the school's behalf
  • Manages its activities, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • Can coordinate local transport where agreed

Your school

  • Shares group details, dates and practical requirements
  • Approves the programme, location and bookings
  • Arranges the main travel to and from the destination
  • Maintains the school’s supervision and insurance arrangements
  • Pays the separate programme, accommodation/food and travel invoices

One joined-up planning process, separate payments. EcoWise Italy identifies and books the programme site, accommodation and food on the school's behalf as part of its service, with no additional EcoWise coordination fee. The school normally receives and pays three separate invoices: EcoWise Italy; accommodation and food; and travel. If a school books through a tour operator, the operator may instead package the trip and handle supplier payments.

Consider November to March

These quieter months often offer more flexibility for schools. Tell Adam the period you are considering and he will check the live calendar and suitable programme options.

Practical questions

Before you enquire

What group sizes and supervision work?

Groups of approximately 15–80 can be considered, with a single class of around 20–30 pupils being typical. A usual planning ratio is one accompanying adult for every 10 pupils; the exact fit and staffing are confirmed for the ages, programme and location.

Can the trip connect to our curriculum?

Yes. Programmes can be shaped around science, ecology, fieldwork, interdisciplinary learning and wider group objectives. Tell Adam the outcomes you need and he will discuss what is feasible.

How long should a residential trip be?

For schools travelling internationally, five days and four nights is the recommended format. Seven days and six nights allows an even deeper experience. Shorter three-day/two-night and two-day/one-night programmes are also possible, as are day visits.

How is pricing worked out?

Every programme receives a bespoke per-person quote based on the group size, duration, activities and location.

Who arranges travel, accommodation and food?

EcoWise Italy chooses the programme location, checks availability, and books suitable accommodation and food on the school's behalf. The school arranges its main travel; EcoWise Italy can sometimes coordinate local transport. The school pays the programme, accommodation/food and travel providers separately unless the trip is packaged through a tour operator.

Can you provide evidence of insurance?

Yes. EcoWise Italy holds current public liability insurance. Evidence can be supplied privately to genuine school enquiries during planning; it is not published on the public website.

Is travel insurance included?

No. EcoWise Italy does not sell travel or provide travel insurance. Schools must arrange suitable insurance themselves or through their travel provider. For a flight-inclusive package bought through a UK tour operator, ask the operator what ATOL financial protection applies; ATOL protection is separate from travel insurance.
